Slotted angle is steel cut into an L-shaped cross-section, with evenly spaced slots punched along both faces. That's the whole product, really. The slots are what make it useful, since they let you bolt one piece to another at almost any point along its length.

Building with it works a bit like assembling an oversized, heavy-duty meccano set. Line up the slots, drop in a bolt, tighten a nut, and you've joined two pieces of angle into a frame. Add shelving panels across the frame, and you've got a rack. Need it taller, wider, or shaped differently next year? Unbolt it, rearrange, bolt it back together. No cutting torch required.

That flexibility is really the entire point. Welded racks are fixed the moment they're built. Slotted angle racks aren't. They can be taken apart, resized, or moved to a different part of the building whenever the need comes up, and they go back together just as solidly as before.

The steel itself comes in different thicknesses depending on what it needs to carry, and finishes range from powder coating to galvanising, chosen based on how much wear and moisture the rack is going to face.

- Light Duty Slotted Angle

Thinner gauge steel, built for racks that hold smaller items, paperwork, light stock, tools, that sort of thing. It's the version most small offices and stockrooms end up using, since the loads involved rarely justify anything heavier.

Cost makes sense here too. There's no point paying for thick, heavy-duty steel when the rack's only ever going to carry a few boxes of stationery or some light spare parts.

- Medium Duty Slotted Angle

A step up in gauge, meant for racks carrying moderate loads, boxed inventory, machine parts, retail stock, the kind of weight that would start bending light duty angle over time. Most general warehouse racking falls into this category.

It's the one we sell the most of, honestly, since it covers the widest range of practical uses without overbuilding for loads that were never going to show up.

- Heavy Duty Slotted Angle

Thicker steel altogether, built for racks carrying serious weight, pallet-level storage, heavy machine components, dense industrial stock. This is what gets specified when a rack failure isn't just inconvenient, it's actually dangerous.

We don't cut corners on gauge thickness here. A heavy duty rack that flexes or sags under load defeats the entire purpose of calling it heavy duty in the first place.

Corner plates, cladding sheets, partition plates, partition screws, PVC shoes, nuts and bolts, and shelf panels in various sizes. Everything you need to finish off the rack setup is available from us so you are not hunting around for matching components from multiple suppliers.

Specifications

We use IS HR 1079 and CR 519 grade steel across our slotted angle rack range.

Angle sizes come in 40 mm, 60 mm, and 80 mm with thickness from 2 mm to 3.15 mm depending on load requirement.

Shelf panels are 6-bend construction, available in standard lengths of 2.5 feet and 3 feet, widths of 12, 15, 18, and 24 inches, and thickness from 0.98 mm to 2 mm.

All components are powder-coated. Custom dimensions are available on request.
